Hey guys!
Well today was my “encore” in Vero since I thought yesterday was my last night and then ended up staying. It was actually really relaxing though—don’t hate me but Kayla, Christie and I totally just laid around the pool all day and were lazy bums. 😉 Tomorrow: back to reality!
I snacked on a pb&j english muffin—
And then for dinner, us three girls went to Chilies.…our old stomping ground. Vero is REALLY small so whenever we went out to eat in high school it was either Thai food or….Chilies. Gotta love small towns!!
We went to town on the chips and salsa….
And then I had the shrimp salad with no fried tortilla pieces and the dressing on the side. It was just okay.
Blackberry iced tea to drink!
After dinner the sun was just setting, so we stopped at this cute beach bar to have a glass of wine for the last “hoorah”. I was sad because there was a band and they were playing all my favorite songs but no one was dancing. So we just sat, chatted and listened to awesome music for like an hour before heading home. I’ve had some very much needed girl time over the past week…its been awesome and very necessary!
I’m heading home (for real!) in the morning. I love my hometown but I feel like I’ve been gone forever and my mom has informed me that lots of fun packages have arrived while I’ve been gone, including a 12 pack of Chobani!! I’ve been craving greek yogurt like CRAZY all week and can’t wait to get home to have my daily fix. Weird the things we miss when we are away. September is going to be interesting…..I have a few things up my sleeve, that’s for sure 😉
See you in the morning!

August 29, 2009 at 12:02 amGirl time is so crucial. Glad you had a good time. I am from a small town as well and we always went to FRIDAYS. Pretty much the same as Chilli’s. I was bummed when I finaly realized that most of the food in those restaurants comes frozen and they just heat it 🙁 Oh well! Hope you have a safe and relaxing drive back home 🙂

August 29, 2009 at 12:43 amChilli’s brings me back to college because we were so excited when it came to Ithaca NY my junior year. Before that all we had was Applebees for chain places. The food there is totally meh, but I do love me some Chili’s chips and salsa (although I am just a chips/salsa fiend in general, to be fair). YAY for girl’s nights (or weeks)!

August 29, 2009 at 2:31 amIsn’t it weird when you go back to your old stomping grounds? You love it, miss it, and you have a great time with all of your friends, but you know that it’s not where you belong! I’m glad you got in some girl time! Every girl needs some once in a while!

August 29, 2009 at 10:43 amGuess what – Costco now sells a 12-pack of Chobani for only $11.79! They give you 4 Strawberry, 4 Blueberry and 4 peach and they’re all incredible! I just found them at Costco yesterday and went crazy! I’m in South Florida, so I’m sure that the Tampa Costco has them, too! Have a safe drive home.

August 29, 2009 at 6:51 pmIt’s kinda funny the greek yogurt kick…today at trader joe’s I thought I would grab a few containers of regular yogurt. I was shocked to find my selection cut in half to make room for their individual size containers of greek yogurt. Not complaining though, I love the thicker stuff (and it could have been slow restock, I mean it is NYC).

August 30, 2009 at 4:54 am…As I saw your iced tea there, it dawned on me that that could be how I ween myself from my afternoon coffees! Hot teas don’t seem to work, but I’ve always enjoyed iced tea…. Yum. Looks and sounds like a great day. Drive home safe!
