I love writing these posts! I realized I haven’t done one in awhile though so thought this would be fun to celebrate December 1st! Wait…is it really December 1st? Like, Christmas is in a couple weeks? Like I still haven’t bought my Christmas plane tickets and am now going to be royally screwed? Okay yeah, just checking.
Here’s a list of what I’m really loving now from shoes, to food, to clothes to makeup. Enjoy!
Herringbone Toms! I’ve been wanting to get some Toms shoes for awhile now and after seeing these on Pinterest a few weeks ago, I finally made the order. I wear them with just about everything from yoga pants to jeans to skirts and, like everyone says, they are SO comfy.
Mama Pea’s Chickpea Tacos. I make these all the time and am currently making them yet again tonight! Adam loves them and the two of us can easily eat the entire recipe (that I think is supposed to feed four). Oops. A very typical dinner rotation in my house looks like this: chickpea tacos. white chicken chili. chicken and dumplings. Repeat.
Ahava Mineral Botanic Velvet Cream Wash. I have VERY dry skin and this has been the only body wash that leaves me feeling like I just slathered on the moisturizer. It doesn’t leave any sort of greasy film or residue on your skin—only velvet softness. Plus, it smells absolutely amazing! I got this at Ulta two months ago and I’m not even 1/4th of the way through the bottle!
Mrs. Meyers scented candles. I burn candles at home every night and needed a new one so I bought this Iowa pine scented one from Target, as well as another spice cake scented one. They smell amazing and burn super slow. Some Christmas tree-smelling candles tend to smell like cleaning solution (anyone? anyone?) but this definitely does not. It smells amazing!
Ornaments to Remember. Sticky bun ORNAMENTS?!?!?! Yes, please. I’m getting my first Christmas tree this year and decided it will be a total dessert tree, decorated with these little beauties. There’s also cake slices, cupcakes, fortune cookies, ice cream bars and more! Seriously the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Lululemon Wunder Unders.Β Β I live in these pants. They are so comfy cozy and perfect for just about anything from yoga class to under a cut little dress with boots. I used to think Groove pants were my favorite, but after purchasing a pair of these guys awhile ago, I have come to change my mind. I pull the extra material under my feet and it keeps me warm and cozy!
Philosophy Birthday Cake Lip Shine.Β I’ve never been a big lipstick girl (too much taste testing happening round here) but I do love lip gloss and this is the best one I’ve found…ever. It’s super shiny without being overly sticky and BONUS! it tastes just like cake. I’m constantly running out and buying more–it’s one of those products I keep in my purse or pocket at all times.
Frye Boots in “Melissa” style.Β I saved the very best for last! Yes, these boots are expensive but they are worth it….I promise! I never in a million years would have pinned myself as a person that would EVER spend over one hundred dollars on a pair of shoes but the second these puppies were on my feet, I knew. I was tired of spending fifty bucks on a pair of boots every winter and then wearing those boots into the ground, so I decided to take the plunge and buy these. I bought them in September and I would say that I wear them six out of seven days a week now. They’re beautiful, comfortable and look good just about anything. When I was home, my dad shined them for me and it felt like I have a whole new pair of boots! Every time I wear them I get compliments (mine are the Cognac color). Do it.

December 1, 2011 at 12:36 pmThat body wash sounds amazing! I have super dry skin as well, and have been on the search for something that would work! I may have to give this a try!

December 1, 2011 at 12:38 pmOhhh man this post came at the perfect time. The weather is starting to actualaly get cold here and my skin is PAINFULLY dry, and I even have eczema in some places. I have a question about that body wash…do you think it’d be ok for sensitive skin? Cuz on top of being dry, I’m sensitive too!
jenna
December 1, 2011 at 12:48 pmI think so but if you have a skin condition, you might want to try something fragrance-free like Aveeno instead!
Sierra
December 1, 2011 at 1:38 pmI’ve been to the dr for it and fragrance doesn’t seem to affect it. Thanks so much! Oh and I looked it up and the Ulta website says its safe for sensitive skin (in case anyone else was wondering!)

December 1, 2011 at 12:39 pmOMG – I JUST had those exact boots delivered to my doorstep yesterday!
I’m in LOVE. They have the perfect wide-calf version – not too big, not too little – for my “athletic” legs π I’ve been searching for years!
Totally worth the cost…
Kara
December 1, 2011 at 12:40 pmI was drooling over those boots online, but just couldn’t make myself spend that much…. But after your review, I just may need to! Thanks! π

December 1, 2011 at 12:52 pmI usually think Tom’s are hideous but I actually like these! There was a guy on the plane today with a full suit on and Tom’s. That was weird.
I just bought my mom those wunder unders and now I’m kicking myself for not getting a pair myself. Super jealous of the gift I gave her!

December 1, 2011 at 12:53 pmMy Christmas tree is full of food ornaments ! I just bought a pickle and an avocado today ! old world has a bunch of food themed ornaments.

December 1, 2011 at 12:56 pmwunder unders are amazing, and i while it pained me to dish out an obscene amount of money for my frye boots, they are totally worth every penny.

December 1, 2011 at 12:59 pmThat body wash sounds wonderful. My skin has been so dry, and it seems like no amount of moisturizer is really helping. I’m definitely going to look into buying some.

December 1, 2011 at 1:03 pmFun fact: Target makes some pretty awesome frye knock-offs for $70. And they last!

December 1, 2011 at 1:03 pmI love those boots and have been eyeing them since the fall. I have two other pair of Frye boots I have gotten over the years and they just seem to get better with age. You might have just convinced me to buy these.

December 1, 2011 at 6:50 pmme too! mine are going strong 3+ years later, and i wear them at least once a week. they are definitely worth it.
and i have a different pair of frye boots, but again, so worth it. 2+ years later and they still look great.
tip: before i even wore them once, i had a protective rubber sole put on (maybe cost me 15 bucks at the shoe guy), and they still look practically new.

December 1, 2011 at 1:23 pmI have also been wanting a pair of Tom’s! Glad to hear how comfy they are π And the Frye boots are amazing – I’m thinking of biting the bullet and spending the cash on these too because I’ve heard from so many people how great they are!

December 1, 2011 at 1:39 pmI LOVE my Wunder Under pants! I never thought I’d go away from my classic flared yoga/workout pants (I prefer Astro to Groove, but they are similar) but then I tried these on and was SOLD. I love them for yoga but wear them as leggings/pants all the time. I want like five more pairs for Xmas!
PS I pull the extra under my feet too and pretend I’m a ballerina.

December 1, 2011 at 2:09 pmI want those Melissa Frye boots sooooo bad!! I tried them on, and than BAM, too small for my calves. I’ll have to get some gussets put in. But that only makes me more determined to go out and buy them – because I know I’ll love them!!

Ahava Mineral Botanic Velvet Cream Wash = new to me, will try!
The Lulu wonderunders…have also heard rave reviews on those. Nike makes a base layer pant like those that I have and LIVE in as well! Will check out the Lulu’s.

December 1, 2011 at 4:57 pmI will take one of each please, thanks!
I have wanted those boots for so long now..but interestingly enough….I just find now that if so many people have them than I do not want them as badly so I am after another pair. π I am silly like that, I can’t stand to have something every one else is rockin, not my style.

December 1, 2011 at 5:19 pmLOVE December. love these boots! I am wearing the same exact style and cognac color on my little feetsies right now! (although they were $100 bucks, they are still not Frye… one day I will muster up enough courage to get me some real Fryes!)

December 1, 2011 at 7:27 pmWunder unders are the best. I used to be a Groove girl all the way but WU’s won me over. And then I got acquainted with their fun-loving cousin, Wunder Under Crops – unREAL. I mean, there really isn’t anything from Lululemon that isn’t amazing, but still, WU’s are the cream of the crop.
And Vanilla Cake lip gloss? Sign me up. I still have some vanilla frosting lipsmackers hiding in a forgotten purse somewhere and it’ll be a happy day when I stumble upon it.

December 2, 2011 at 8:25 amoooh I’ve been wanting those Melissa button riding boots ever since I made the mistake of trying them on a couple of winters ago…you are absolutely right about them being worth the money. They are an investment to be sure, but are very comfortable and will last you years with proper care…plus they fit great and look even better! I think maybe I need some Wunder Unders or similar…are they good for running?

December 6, 2011 at 7:26 amI haven’t been able to find a pair of Frye boots that fit my wide calves, BUT I am a total believer in spending the ridiculous amount of money for a quality pair of boots you love. After looking for an entire fall/winter season without luck in the under-$100 price range, the next year, I decided to pay whatever it took to get the pair I was picturing in my head (ended up being a pair of Coach boots similar to the Frye Melissa, actually). I wear them all the time and after 2 falls they are still going strong and will hopefully last several more years.
Dawn
December 6, 2011 at 12:22 pmI just bought a pair of Frye Melissa boots in the same color a couple of weeks ago! After keeping them in the box in my car for a week while I tried to decide if I was going to return them or keep them, I decided to just keep them. I LOVE them and have been wearing them with absolutely everything. Best. Boots. Ever.
