Hello, hello!
Now I am sort of regretting putting that awful tired picture on the internet for the whole world to see….I really look horrible!!!! Praying for good, good sleep tonight! I was at the store re-stocking our spinach and banana stash and found myself pondering over the eye gels and masks but they all were like $30 so I nixed the idea quite fast. Oh well.
This afternoon I DID get to the gym for some cardio, which like always, really really helped! I spent 30 minutes pumping and working—15 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes speed walking on an incline on the treadmill. Tomorrow I shall run my two miles! Woohoo!
Speaking of the gym, is the locker room scale getting you down?? As we all know, the number the scale reads really isn’t a good representation of your total health; as we all know, lean muscle weighs more than fat! My fellow True/Slant co-journalist, Katie, addresses this issue in her article, Your Ideal Self (numericized).
So, after my workout I felt the need for even MORE greens so I snacked on one of my faves:
I do love these things….and the ingredient list is just awesome! Speaking of Amazing Grass, have you taken advantage of the special 40% discount on the 2lb tubs of Amazing Meal yet?? Seriously this is a once in a lifetime offer! If you thought my eyes looked puffy in my godzilla picture then, you should have seen them pre-grass. Scary.
Just type in the special code: EatLiveRun40%AM at checkout and you get the once $70 container for only $41…..plus a super sweet shaker for free. Come on now!
For the rest of the afternoon I just worked, worked, worked. Then, it was dinner time. I didn’t have the energy to cook something tonight and looked to the black whole, which is my freezer, for inspiration. In the end, I picked my very, very, VERY favorite “trash food”—-

June 19, 2009 at 7:44 pmHappy anniversary!
A night of doing nothing is always a good thing. Rest is good!
And can’t wait to hear about your lunch date.

June 19, 2009 at 7:57 pmThat flavor sounds so good! I really want to take advantage of the 40% off offer, but I’m so hesitant. I’m afraid I may not like it, which I guess would make me the one and only. 😉

June 19, 2009 at 7:59 pmThat ice cream sounds so good! I love anything with the words “mocha” “almond” and “fudge”. Have a great weekend!

June 19, 2009 at 8:21 pmThanks for posting the link to your article about buying frozen foods. I find myself looking at that section of the grocery store more and more as I try to bring my lunch to the office every day. And you’re right, your “trashy” food isn’t really trashy. Enjoy that ice cream!

June 19, 2009 at 8:23 pmMocha Almond Fudge? Now THAT sounds delicious! “I moaned with unbridled pleasure at every last bite.” – Haha! That made me smile!

June 19, 2009 at 8:28 pmI don’t think my local grocery store has that kind of ice cream, but I bet the Earth Fare 30 minutes away has it. I’m drooling over here looking at the pics!

June 19, 2009 at 8:31 pmTotally yum about that Ice Cream… Mocha + Almond + Fudge??? What more could you ask for???
Enjoy your relaxing evening and get to bed early! You deserve a good night’s rest and need your beauty sleep for the big day tomorrow! 🙂
With the Amazing Grass… which flavor did you end up liking the best in your smoothies? The Green Superfood, Wheatgrass, Chocolate, or Berry??? I’m weary of trying the flavored one in my smoothie and was wondering your opinion?

June 19, 2009 at 8:48 pmOooh that phad thai and coconut ice cream makes it a Friday night ;). Love that brand of coconut ice cream and must try that flavor! The way you describe it makes me want to run out and get it.

June 19, 2009 at 8:56 pmahhh…I wish I would have seen this ice cream earlier when I was at Whole Foods. I would have scooped it up in an instant 🙂
Hope you have an awesome anniversary!

June 19, 2009 at 9:06 pmWow, that might be my new favorite flavor of ice cream, it looks/sounds FANTASTIC!! And it’s so hot right now so it would be perfection.

June 19, 2009 at 9:08 pmJenna, I’m so jealous of your pad thai. If your eyes are still puffy tomorrow, you may want to try my Grammy’s trick…hemorrhoid cream! I know it sounds gross, but she used to swear by it. I’ll admit it, I’ve tried it a few times after some long nights and it’s worked! You can’t go wrong with Gram’s advice 🙂

June 19, 2009 at 9:10 pmHappy anniversary! Its a glass of wine and a movie for us tonight. I have an early drive in the am to visit the family. Enjoy your weekend!

June 19, 2009 at 9:29 pmYup, I definitely bought some of the green goodness! The international shipping charge was a bit painful, but the coupon definitely helps with that! Can’t wait to try it out – thanks so much Jenna.

June 19, 2009 at 9:31 pmJenna- I just got a chance to read your true/slant articles, they’re great! What an awesome thing to be doing.

June 19, 2009 at 9:53 pmAs a kinesiology student; I must correct you- muscle and fat weigh the SAME (1 lb muscle = 1 lb fat) but muscle is more dense and takes up LESS SPACE! =)

June 19, 2009 at 9:58 pmHappy Anniversary!
I am soooo thrilled about the Amazing Greens offer! I can’t wait for it to come in the mail. 🙂
Laura
June 19, 2009 at 10:04 pmI found some of that ice cream last weekend – it IS the best ever. I never would have heard about that brand until you told us about it a few weeks ago. Luckily my local store does not stock it – I would be eating it all the time!

June 19, 2009 at 10:12 pmJenna, even when you’re tired you look beautiful! 🙂 I just ordered my pomegranate mango flavor of the Amazing Grass. I’m so excited!!! I have the little kid version of the chocolate one so I thought a nice fruit flavor would be good too. Plus now I’ll have a great shaker to use all these powders! I’m trying to get away from some of the junk snacks I eat so I think having a good Amazing grass drink instead will be perfect!

June 19, 2009 at 10:48 pmNot trying to be mean or snarky, just an honest question – doesn’t lean muscle just take up less space than fat? A pound is a pound.
Nicole
June 19, 2009 at 11:22 pmWhen I had an extreme ice cream craving the other day, I went to the super market and that was the only flavor and I was a bit hesitant because I don’t like the plain vanilla coconut milk one, but I was so surprised that I LOVED IT! I don’t even usually like coffee flavored things!
Christina
June 19, 2009 at 11:43 pmAww, Happy anniversary!! that ice cream looks delicious..I may just have to go to whole foods tomorrow and check it out 🙂
Caroline
June 20, 2009 at 12:06 amWow that ice cream looks DIVINE. I love anything coconut–does it taste like coconut? I’ve tried the coconut milk yogurts, and they’re tasty but don’t taste much like coconut.
emily
June 20, 2009 at 12:18 amI LOVE that Pad Thai! It is soooooo good. I just wanted to give you a heads up (although this is obviously the company and not you) that the promotional code will not go through for me. Which is sad, because I got super excited to order the product I’ve been so jealous of 🙂
Sarah (LovIN My Tummy)
June 20, 2009 at 12:37 amOh the deliciousness. I’m thinking pad thai is definitely in my future!
Happy anniversary. And not that you need it, but under eye concealer is my best friend.

June 20, 2009 at 1:29 amNow, if you could convince Amazing Grass to provide a similar discount for those BARS (or Superfood, for that matter) … I would order in an instant! The bars are really so great. Pretty please? 😉

June 20, 2009 at 3:19 amI LOVE pad thai, mmm.

June 20, 2009 at 4:36 amHey Jenna. I really enjoy your site and check it every few days for some good, healthy inspiration. If I could offer a bit of constructive feedback though – you’re really pushing the Amazing Meal stuff…a bit over the top and it feels like advertising to be honest. It’s taking away from the usual fresh feel of your blogs and makes me wonder what percentage you’re getting from Amazing Meal for any sales that come from your site. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, however it does change the tone of your blog and feels a bit ham-fisted. That’s just food for thought on an otherwise fantastic blog.
Sammie
June 20, 2009 at 5:26 amHappy Anniversary! I hope you guys have a great time celebrating.
Thank you for forwarding my Amazing Meal question to Brandon. He did in fact tell me that AM is gluten free and that he has a lot of customers with celiac and intolerances. Now I just need to go and get some of that magical powder, don’t I?
Susan
June 20, 2009 at 5:48 amHa, if I had a dime for evey time I regretted posting an embarrassing picture on my blog… Well, okay, maybe I’d just have enough change for laundry, but you get the point! 😛
Happy 3 years, have a great time celebrating!! 😀

June 20, 2009 at 6:21 amYou looked beautiful in the picture!!
I just got hooked on a tiramisu gelato from a local store in my area and it is delightful. I was never a fan of coffee ice creams until now, I need to look for that coconut milk one. I love the coconut milk ice creams!
KPearl
June 20, 2009 at 9:32 amThat ice cream is dangerous! It’s so funny because I had the same exact flavor last week. I have a bunch of food intolerances so there’s not much I can eat. I haven’t had ice cream in at least a year and decided to try it as an extra special treat. I started off measuring out one serving. That turned into 2 which turned into 3. Thank God there’s only 4 servings in the container! I can’t ever buy it again-unless I split it with my husband. It’s THAT good!

June 20, 2009 at 9:33 amHere is a quick fix for puffy and tired eyes: couple slices of cucumber or a couple of tea bags. Not a cure all, but sure does help, plus things you probably have around for whenever puffy and tired eyes may strike.
Mia
June 20, 2009 at 11:05 amJenna, I totally agree that the mocha almond fudge coconut milk ice cream is the best. Last night I picked up a veggie sushi roll and that ice cream. SO GOOD! I couldn’t believe how many almonds were in it. Definitely worth the splurge!
Laura
June 20, 2009 at 6:23 pmThat dessert looks incredible! Will have to find some soon. Hope that your anniversary was great! My boyfriend and I will be celebrating 5 years in August… oi.

June 22, 2009 at 2:37 amI’m so excited to try Amazing Greens to add to my morning green monsters. Which one would you suggest to a newbie? Also, which one is your favorite flavor? Many thanks! Love your blog.

June 22, 2009 at 8:21 amAnn,
My favorite is the chocolate amazing meal because I am a choc-o-holic!! 🙂 The discount is only applied towards the 2lb bulk containers of amazing meal.

June 22, 2009 at 11:41 amThe Tandoor Chef Palak Paneer is my favorite frozen food ever. Just love it with their frozen naan. Too bad it’s so expensive.
