Everything about this outfit makes me really happy.
I wore it when I had absolutely no place to go, insisting on dressing up to cook Adam barbecue chicken enchiladas (Jessica, we love you) and chocolate chip cookies. Then I told him to take my photo. My house, my rules.
This skirt is a rather recent JCrew purchase…I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but once I put it on and twirled around, I knew it was to be! Skirts and dresses that swirl and twirl make me all giddy inside. Plus, it’s the only purple item in my closet. Every girl needs some purple in her life, right?
If you’ve seen these clogs at Target and have been debating them, GET THEM. They are, hands down, the most comfortable heel I own and go with everything from jeans to dresses. Oh, and did I mention they were only ten dollars? Another thing I didn’t expect to love so much but am so, so glad I got.

August 9, 2011 at 12:39 pmOne of my favorite books as a kid was The Twirly Skirt about a girl wanting to wear a twirly skirt dress to her birthday party, but then her friend didn’t have a cool dress … somehow they ended up wearing matching twirly skirts to the birthday party. It was awesome. I got a twirly prom dress because of that book.

Also, is that Mt. Diablo in the background, or just another beautiful CA-looking hill? *I miss home*
…enjoying your fashion posts! Inspiring me to dress up a little more than usual.

August 9, 2011 at 1:01 pmThat skirt (especially the color) is absolutely stunning! There is just something about a flowy summery skirt that makes a girl feel pretty and ladylike š
I recently bought a skirt like yours (expect its black and slightly longer) and am dying to wear it somewhere! Just need to figure out where…

In your previous fashion posting I noticed the street and again, I notice the same street you live on is the one that Dedicated Fiance’s Godmother lives on. We visit her every time we’re in SR.

August 9, 2011 at 4:18 pmi never had anything purple in high school, bc it was our rival school’s color. but when i got to college, i had to play catch-up with purple clothes, because it’s one of my sorority’s colors. good thing too- it made me realize how great purple looks on those of us with blonde hair and green eyes. LOVE purple!!

August 9, 2011 at 9:01 pmYour sidewalk fashion photos crack me up because I can identify those sidewalks to this day!
