….but I love her all the same!
Here’s what I wore last night when we went out to dinner with friends! Pardon my deer in headlights stare below.
I found this dress hidden in the back of my closet and don’t even know the last time I wore it. I think I found it on an Urban clearance rack in college. I’ve always been intrigued with the neckline though and what you can’t see are the bright red beady bracelets I have on to match. It’s a fun spin on a LBD!
I have to say, I felt a little junior-highish wearing (what I would consider) a short dress with tall boots. I got over it after a glass of wine though, don’t worry. And mixing black and brown? Totally cool in my book.

September 3, 2011 at 11:13 amLove the neckline detail! I’m 25 and I totally agree about the whole feeling high school-esque wearing short dresses. Whatever though, you rocked it

September 3, 2011 at 11:35 amHi Jenna,
I wanted to ask a question about some ice creams. Have you ever tried the various coconut milk ice creams/bars, almond dream, so delicious, etc? I always buy dairy ice creams, but I’m curious about these others. I’m hoping that if they go on sale, then I can pick some stuff up. But I’m overwhelmed by all the flavors or varieties or types of ones to get. Any suggestions?
jenna
September 3, 2011 at 11:50 amI love the coconut milk ice creams but they are sorta expensive and i’m not a big “cold dessert” person! I’d rather have warm cake or a warm chocolate cookie. The coconut milk ice creams are delicious though!
Dana
September 3, 2011 at 12:00 pmI like mixing hot and cold. Crumble the cake on the ice cream or what you! I’ll try them out when they go on sale next.

September 3, 2011 at 11:46 amYAY a fashion post! I actually had never heard of Frye boots until this post, so I looked them up online ’cause yours are so cute. Unfortunately, I think my husband + bank account would kill me if I purchased some of my own. Would you ever consider posting pictures & links to a similar look/item but different brand, so there is an option for different price ranges & actual availability (like, what is in stores now if I want something like the Urban dress?). Regardless, keep the fashion posts coming!

September 3, 2011 at 11:46 amHi Jenna
Yes I agree that you are radiant and while skin care is important I have a feeling your radiance has much to do because you read and act on God’s word. he promises that we a radiant in him and you have that special glow because you know where your blessings come from. Awesome!
I have a question – What is a good thing super affordable to feed 35 people? I remember you did pulled chicken for a funeral a while back. how many chickens would I need for 35 people if im going to be doing pulled bbq sandwiches I would think it stretches more. I signed up to bring a meal to Ronald Mcdonald house families of crtically ill children, completely forgot now I want to keep my commitment but my finances have changed since so I was looking for an affordable way of keeping this commitment. Any ideas?
jenna
September 3, 2011 at 11:49 amHmmmm 35 people?! You’re a courageous woman. I would probably get that catered 🙂 Pulled chicken is, in theory, a great idea but you’d have to have about three crockpots going to make enough food! I’d make a couple of pans of homemade macaroni and cheese maybe? Or a couple pans of lasagna? Pastas and casseroles are a great way to feed a crowd on a budget.

September 3, 2011 at 12:12 pmCute dress. I love Urban Outfitters.
And Frye boots….well they are, of course, amazing. I would love a pair one day!
And the baby…what an adorable little bundle of cuteness 🙂

September 3, 2011 at 12:19 pmThank you – yeah I signed up because when my mom was going through leukemia I moved to the hospital village and I know how hard it is for family members to deal with catastrophic illnesses especially if they are babies going thorugh this so this is a way to serve and honor my mom at the same time. Having said that, I did not know it was 35 people living at the Ronald House until this week so El pollo loco catering – here I come … Mac & Cheese is a good idea but using good cheeses its expensive too so ill keep it simple and just do roasted el pollo loco stuff

September 4, 2011 at 7:53 pmI am totally digging your blog transformation from fitness to food to yoga to fashion! I feel your life has changed along they way and you really shine through your blog in the way that your life has changed I think its simply beautiful. Although, you are not over trendy or fashion obssesed (or maybe you are?) because I believe that is just boring. I love the way you have been sharing your outifits and lifestyle beyond just cooking and baking. Not a lot of bloggers could pull it off the way you do.
