Good evening
The days I work at The Wine Center are always so busy! I do love it, but racing around on your feet all day sometimes gets to ya. I feel like I’ve reverted back to my old days of waiting tables. Oh well, it’s cardio, right? If you are visiting wine country, come see me for a food and wine pairing!
Because I have wonky hours (11-3) it’s not enough time to take a break so I usually just eat a big meal before I go in and then pack a hefty snack to pick at during a slow time. Today I brought a larabar and then when I got home, ate another Siggi’s.
Blueberry was good but I think vanilla is still my favorite. Especially when topped with caramel. Everything is better topped with caramel.
I also had a care package waiting for me at home! I love care packages! Especially when they are from my mama and include presents for both myself and Dexter.
A top from her yoga studio, a new workout headband, cute old fashioned curtains for my kitchen, kitchen sponges (?!), a new hairbrush, my old makeup bag, toys for Dexter and photos from home. Thanks, mom!
I loved the yoga top so much that I immediately put it on and then went to a flow class at 5:45. Woohee, it kicked my behind good. Haven’t been to yoga since before the race (I know, I KNOW) and my hamstrings prove it. I need to make yoga more of a priority and at least commit to doing it once a week. Somehow I blinked and it’s already almost July…last time I checked it was January. Where is my life going?
Later post-yoga dinner was a big salad with carrot, goat cheese, a dr.praegger’s veggie burger (read my initial review here), grape tomatoes, hummus and sriracha.

June 24, 2010 at 8:37 pmi can’t say i’ve had toast in the bath before, but i’m thinking an ice cream cone in the bath sounds pretty stinkin’ amazing right about now 🙂

June 24, 2010 at 8:41 pmNothing beats a care package! I’ve been known to eat my froyo in a hot bath with a magazine. Perfection.

June 24, 2010 at 9:21 pmGotta love care packages from Mom. And Peanut Butter & Toast in the bath tube? That sounds divine.
Becki @ HikeBikeEat
June 24, 2010 at 9:41 pmEating food in the bathtub is never a good idea for me. I tried tea with a little honey and ended up dropping it in as well and had to clean it out. Klutzy me + food = disaster no matter where I am!

June 24, 2010 at 10:24 pmSo I read your post title and I was thinking you had a nice glass of wine in the bath and made a toast with it… Haha, I was thinking too hard. Actual toasted bread?!
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs
June 25, 2010 at 12:36 amToast and jam in the bath! Love it 🙂 Can’t say I’ve ever tried that myself 😛

June 25, 2010 at 3:47 amHahaha…my mum usually gives me stuff like kitchen sponges too. Hilarious :-). I bet I’ll be doing the same some day. Good for you with the yoga “homecoming” – the T may have helped, no? It looks so cute – Nothing like new workout clothes.

June 25, 2010 at 3:55 amAwwww, such a sweet care package. My mom still sends me care packages, even though I’m 27 and married. In my head, I’m still 19 and living in Berry Dorms at CofC. 🙂

June 25, 2010 at 3:55 amYou still working at the yoga studio Jenna?
Care packages are the most thoughtful (and appreciated)gifts ever…always heartfelt and sweet ,and sometimes with odd yet needed items! Especially awesome when from a parent or dear buddy.
jenna
June 25, 2010 at 6:55 amthe hours they needed changed and now since I work at Kendall-Jackson, I don’t have time. Bummer!

June 25, 2010 at 4:37 amI love the Savannah Yoga studio! I live right around the corner from it and go a couple times a week. You should check out a class next time you visit Georgia!

June 25, 2010 at 4:44 amCare packages are the best! I moved away from home last year and my mom always sends packages before holidays that are filled with decorations for my apt. I love it!

June 25, 2010 at 4:57 amI love the name of this post. The shirt is so cute! Care packages are so fun. Your dinner salad looks amazing.
Kelly
June 25, 2010 at 5:05 amToast in the bathtub? You crack me up! Don’t you end up with crumbs floating around in the water? That would definitely be a bad idea, b/c I love lotsa jelly, and jelly in my bath might be a little gross.
AB
June 25, 2010 at 5:40 amI have never eaten toast in the bathtub; but I think I’m gonna try it!
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down)
June 25, 2010 at 5:41 amWhat a fun care package! I’m in serious need of a new workout shirt for both yoga and running, since one of mine has a serious hole in the arm…haha.
Oh, and yes. Toast in the bathtub = pure enjoyment. Grilled cheese is good too.
Nora@LiveLifeEatRight
June 25, 2010 at 5:43 amI had that siggis and nearly the same thing for dinner last night…WISH I had toast in the bath…but I did have some killer toasted pb&j at lunch. Jealous you get to work at the wineries! Although, I’ve been having fun going to tastings the last few weekends 🙂 I’m doing my first barrel tasting tomorrow…so excited!

June 25, 2010 at 5:57 amYou are inspirational that’s why people come to your blog over and over again. Your radiance shines through!
Your mom is very kind and sweet.

June 25, 2010 at 6:27 amI think as long as you don’t make the toast IN the bathtub, you’re in good shape 😉
kim
June 25, 2010 at 6:50 amWait, are you complaining about working a 4 hour workday? When you said ‘working at the Wine Center all day’ I assumed you literally meant all day, or atleast 8 hours! I wish I had a job that 4 hours was “all day” !
Sarah
June 25, 2010 at 9:03 amI was thinking the same thing! I totally chose the wrong field. If I came in for 4 hours, everyone in my office would assume I had the day off and was just stopping by.
Kate
June 25, 2010 at 6:56 amSheesh indeed…a four hour work day a few days per week constitutes “hard work” in Jenna’s world!

June 25, 2010 at 7:35 amMmm that salad makes me crave spinach. It’s been too long since I’ve had a good spinach salad, or a green smoothie for that matter.
I don’t think I could eat toast in the bath. That grosses me out for some reason.

June 25, 2010 at 8:38 amI ran right out and got some Siggi’s yogurt. I wasn’t as crazy about blueberry, it was not sweet at all. I tried your suggestion with caramel in the vanilla and I loved it!
