Hello!
I have been itching to share this simple Honey Turmeric Ginger Iced Tea recipe with you guys for awhile now and today is the day! This iced tea is perfect for summer and, actually, isn’t really “tea” at all! It’s just an infusion. And it’s so refreshing and delicious, especially with the honey.
Over the past month, we have had a bit of a sickness rut with the kids. You know how it is when you have little ones and a cold cycles through your house. Let’s just say it knocks everyone down one.by.one. Luke was the first to go down and down he went. The poor guy was sick for 12 whole days with this darn virus! Grayson was next and finally, last week, I fell as well. But only, miraculously, for 12 hours (thanks Vitamin C and Wellness Formula!). Anyway, we are finally all well now and I’m sipping this on the daily to boost my immunity while I chase after these germ monsters all day. Summer colds are the worst, man!
I actually got this “recipe” from my friend, Aubrey. I noticed she was always drinking some magical elixir…at the playground, at my house, at the market…she always seemed to have it with her and swear by it. When I finally asked for her recipe after trying it at a friend’s house during one of our kids playdates, she said quite simply “it’s just grated fresh ginger and turmeric mixed with water”. That’s it. I added honey for sweetness and a whole lotta ice because SUMMER.
There are tons of health benefits to drinking an infusion like this. Turmeric is known to help with inflammation, so there’s that big one. Also, ginger is great for nausea and helps to boost the immune system. I’m actually not a fan of things that are “overly gingery” (they sort of have the reverse effect on me and make me MORE nauseous) but there’s a great balance in this tea. It’s really just refreshing and detoxifying.
I hope you enjoy — this one’s a good one! 😉
- 2 3" knobs fresh ginger
- 2 3" knobs fresh turmeric
- 1.5 tbsp raw honey
- 2 cups hot water
- additional water and ice for serving
-
Using a spoon, peel both the ginger and turmeric. Grate each on a box grater like you would cheese.
-
Place the grated roots in a glass measuring cup and pour two cups of hot water over. Let steep for 10 minutes.
-
Strain into a jar and add the honey. Stir or shake well.
-
When you're ready to make iced tea, pour about 1/4 cup of this concentrate into a glass and add cold filtered water. The amount of water you add is dependent on how strong you like your tea. 🙂 Add ice and enjoy!
This recipe makes about 1.5 cups of iced tea concentrate. It keeps in the fridge for about a week so make a big batch and drink up the benefits!

June 27, 2017 at 11:18 amThis sounds so refreshing! I’ve been drinking golden milk often for the past few months, but I like the idea of turmeric and ginger iced tea much better for the summer. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to try this. 😀

July 13, 2017 at 2:09 pmIs it possible to use ground turmeric if fresh isn’t available? None of my local grocery stores have it at the moment and do not have a Whole Foods close by.

August 13, 2017 at 10:22 amThank you, I love this drink. I hate throwing away all that ginger and turmeric though. Do you think it could be saved and used again for another batch? Or anything else?

August 18, 2017 at 2:51 pmHere is a recipe for my ginger turmeric tea. I drink it hot.
I have arthritis and this helps.
Homemade Ginger Tea
Ingredients:
4 ~ 6 Tbsp. fresh grated ginger
4 cups water
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Turmeric
Pinch of Cayenne pepper
1/4 cup Lemon juice
1/4 cup Lime juice
1/2 cup raw honey
Directions
Peel the ginger root with a peeler or with the back of a spoon.
Grate the ginger with a grater/zester.
If you slice it, slice it thin and use more.
Place the water in a saucepan, add the ginger, cinnamon, cayenne and Turmeric.
Bring to a boil, and turn off heat.
Put the lid on it and let it steep for 10 minutes.
Strain to remove the ginger.
Add lemon and lime juice and honey.
Stir and enjoy!
If you want a cold tea, let your tea cool down, store it in the fridge and add ice cubes before serving.

Small colored plates, heart-shaped breakfast plates, prepared lunches such as picnicking, dinner prepared like playing house, can be transformed into a pleasurable event made with family.
It seems difficult for mothers and fathers to give their children food in front of television. Instead they need to turn off the television. Friv needs to find solutions that will increase interest and desire. For example, funny facial shapes, simple games such as airplane flying, eating games for toddlers, interesting and entertaining to eat contribute to your child’s movement and cognitive development. When your child is hungry, he can feel grumpy and cry without any reason. Most of the time, these reactions are outdoors. It is necessary to evaluate this reaction well and encourage the child to eat.
Can children who do not eat food add a habit of eating with the game?
Of course, the game at friv 2 is very important for the development of a child. However, the game should be applied up to 2 years of age. The game can be cooked until 2 years of age, after which the game is not suitable for eating and eating habits. Because we can apply certain rules, we have to give this habit to the child from their early ages. It is an important role model for the child to eat together with the family, to sit in the table together. Even if you have not eaten your food, sitting in the family cafeteria is important for the development of the child.
It is best not to make your meal times boring. This is also very important in terms of communication with children. You can make your child’s dinner sessions more engaging at some point. But do not take it to the point of a child who opens your mouth like a robot in every advertising cycle, sitting in front of friv unblocked video-recorded ads.Link http://friv.party/
