Hey guys!
Blogging again from a parking lot…but this time, the cell phone parking lot at the San Francisco airport as I wait for my mom’s flight to get here. So far it’s delayed. 🙁
But first, GREEN FEST!!!!
What a totally cool event!!! Y’all would have gone crazy……hundreds of booths filled with organic products. I’m incredibly proud of myself for not buying anything! I did leave with a ton more GRASS but that’s to be expected. 😉
I snacked on one of my favorite bars—
Drank some kombucha—
Had a few sips of acai juice, which I loved!
And also chugged some some kids berry superfood, which is oh so delicious. I swear, the stuff tastes like grape juice. Here’s another fun Amazing Grass fact for y’all. I sent Kevin a huge box of the stuff to test out and he is 100% addicted (his favorites are the chocolate energy bars and the berry SuperFood!) and tonight he said all the guys on line at the restaurant were chugging SuperFood right before service started at Woodfire. How crazy cool is THAT?! 😉 Yay for grass!
I left the show around 5:30 and headed to the Marina to meet Lindsay and Amber for dinner at The Plant Cafe! I was so excited to eat here because Kath’s food looked aaaaamazing from the other day and I’ve heard great things. Needless to say, it did not disappoint!
I had the “plant burger” after great reviews—
YUM!!!! I’m just going to say: this was the very best veggie burger I’ve EVER had. It was absolutely perfect in every way. The only flaw I could find was that it was a tad messy (or maybe that was just me?). They make the burger in house with beets, lentils and grains…and then I had it topped with white cheddar, caramelized onions and avocado on grilled sourdough bread. I ate every last crumb!
I also grabbed two cookies to go in case my mom was hungry after her long flight. 1 peanut butter and 1 oatmeal raisin…..I was only going to eat half of the peanut butter but it was just TOO good so I ate the whole thing! 😉
Thank you girls for meeting me and hanging out!
Time to check flight status…..did I mention that DEXTER is with her????!!!! 😉

November 13, 2009 at 8:54 pmAdorable! Your pic turned out better than mine. I guess that’s why you bought that super fancy camera, right?! I’m coming to visit you at the winery, soon! Dinner was great.
PS. I’m so happy you get to be reunited with your kitty 🙂

November 13, 2009 at 8:54 pmIt’s impossible to only eat 1/2 a cookie!! I need to check out this AG stuff…hmmm are you hiring ;)…uh, no seriously are you? :).
That sandwich looks delish. I made yet another home-made pizza tonight – I have had it alllll week – it’s crazy! I can’t get enough – and unfortunately one too many cupcakes…hence why I’m still up now when I should have went to bed, oh, 3 hours ago?? Have fun with your ma:)

November 14, 2009 at 6:26 amLooks like a fun day! How did you become an AG spokesperson? There are a ton of people in my nutrition program that I’ve been introducing to Amazing Grass, and I’d love to be able to give them samples, so they can eventually use the product in their own practices. It’s been especially useful for people who are starting to get sick! My friends now refer to AG as “amazing weed.” haha.

November 14, 2009 at 6:38 amOkay, love that. My husband and I are huge fans of Kevin, we really hope he wins Top Chef! I love Amazing Grass, and I told Adam that Kevin likes it too. In my words “Kevin and I both drink the grass!!” he just laughed and shook his head, I wonder why? 😉 Hope your mom made it in at a decent time! Can’t wait to see how your trip with her goes. Have a great weekend!
Susan
November 14, 2009 at 6:45 amAww, love your new side photo!
I’ve only just started drinking Amazing Grass after winning it in a giveaway. Wishing I’d picked some of the berry stuff now! I’m not a huge smoothie drinker because I find liquids never fill me up. But the Amazing Grass is SO filling! Even just a simple smoothie with some milk, a banana, and ice. Maybe it’s the fibre? Magical powers of the grass? 😛
Have fun with your mom and Dexter!!

November 14, 2009 at 7:25 amI love a good veggies burger. So many places bring you a gardenburger or some deep fried ugliness. I love a place that takes the time to make their own from whole, fresh ingredients.

November 14, 2009 at 8:42 amJenna, Congrats on all of your new-found opportunities! It’s good to read that you’re not taking them for granted at all; I’m so jealous of all of the amazing food you’ve been privileged to eat! Just a quick note about Acai juice that I’ve recently heard about…the villagers from the harvest area in S. America have been drinking acai juice for years & have led long, healthy lives as a result. However, because it’s just recently become popular elsewhere, it is in extreme high demand and the villagers are poor, so they are selling out. Unfortunately, it is to their own detriment, because now they cannot reserve any for themselves. I am going to make a conscious effort to NOT drink full-on Acai when I have so many other options available to me here in the US. I’d rather not take something away from the villagers that was theirs (although I do realize that the money is helping them tremendously). Just some food for fodor (sp?)…

I bought a huge container of Chocolate Amazing Meal when you first offered a coupon on the blog, and now I am addicted! November 15, 2009 at 11:02 amJust had to pop on to say how much I LOVE Amazing Grass! I love the bars and brought down sample packs of the powders on vacation for my smoothies – the mango one is awesome.
I’ll have to find my discount codes when I get home and place a big order. SO fun to see you at the booth. Let me know if you come to Seattle for a food or Green show!
